  1. I've got a couple of Showtec scanners as pictured below. I think they are 'twisters' but not sure. I'm after some info on the dipswitch settings for them. I want to run them sound to light with one slave and one master. Or if anyone could point me in the direction of a manual that would be great.
  2. I'm a newbie to the whole industry and i'm currently trying to put a sound system together. was just wondering if it would be ok to run 4 x 300w 8 ohm subs from 1 x 1600w 4 ohm amp (800w per channel)? I'd be simply connecting 2 of the subs to the amp and then a sub to each of these subs using the jack ports on the back (if that makes sense). Am i right in thinking this would then make the subs 300w @ 4 ohm? I'm new to all of this and I've been trying to read about connecting speakers in parallel or series. would the above be parallel or series? sorry if this is basic but we all

  4. I'm a novice will all of this stuff so what do I need to 'bare in mind' about them being 8ohm? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but we've all got to learn somewhere. Thanks
  5. that's what i was thinking. I've even had them apart to see if it had the power ratings or at least some indication on the woofer etc but there is nothing. The above info was taken from the peavey website. Might have to drop them an email and see if they can give me some more info. Thought I'd try here first though.
  6. Apparently: 100 Watts continuous, 200 Watts program. 3-Way passive crossover. Full range inputs- phone jack and XLR. Process/Bi-Amp Low-switching jack. Process/Bi-Amp High-phone jackor XLR. SA1 bottom stand adaptor Thought they would have been a higher power rating than that?
  7. I've recently got my hands on a set of Peavey PROSYS 15's however the only information i have on them is they are 8ohm. Could anyone help me out with the power ratings for these? Thanks
  8. does anyone know why i can't post on my thread in the techie talk section?
  9. Cheers Guys North Durham, a place called Stanley
  10. ps.... Does anyone know if these lights have a built in fuse? if so how do you change it? I've had a look through the manual but can't find anything
  11. sorted the problem, it was a faulty mic on one of the scanners. When i removed it and used the scanner with the good mike as the master everything worked fine. Cheers for the help guys
  12. I want the slave to copy the master so i've therefore switched 10 off. therefore the only dipswitch on is number 1 on the master. I've tried clapping, playing loud music and tapping the mics but still no response.
  13. Just thought i'd say hello. Just starting to get myself a pa and lighting system together. Looks like the perfect place to get some advice
  14. I recently bought 2 Zoom Scatscan Club lights (http://www.eclipseav.com/pdfs/zoom/scatscanclub.pdf) When i connect both together and set dipswitch 1 on the master both lights run together. The problem i'm having is they don't run sound to light. Instead they simply go through the gobos slowly. I'm new to all of this so i'm not sure if i'm missing something? Could anyone help?
