  6. Well thanks for sharing it with us . Its with this and the fact people just dont want to pay the fees anymore that i reluctantly decided to cease trading after over 35yrs in the business. I found that i was just not earning the sort of money i needed to sustain the business. The fees are getting lower the parties are getting smaller and the work is getting harder to entertain them . I have now done my last booking the van has been sold and now all the equipment is for sale. Alan
  7. For sale Maya 44 PCI Audio Interface
  8. I have a number of DMC Vinyl Mix Albums from the 90's that I am wanting to sell if anyone is interested Alan
  9. Well after nearly 40 years in the Dj Business ive made the decision to finally hang up the headphones. So at the end of august everything will be for sale as a whole or individually. the lack of any quality work and the current trend of cheap and cheerful brings me to this decision.

  11. I had a £30 voucher a while ago tried it but it did nothing for me. alan
  12. Ive used both the giraffe and the ultimax and the ultimax wins hands down for versatility and build quality, go for the best you wont regret it but go for the cheaper option and you will have wished youde have gone for the best. Alan
  13. Its ok if you can just wheel it in but what about steps bit heavy to carry even up a coupe of steps. Alan
  14. When i used to hire equipment as well as the usuall signed contract and proof of id i used to take a note of the car registration and make without the customer knowing. Alan
  15. Yes great tracks if only you could play them today (apart from a specialist night) I remeber them all well and used to love playing them. Alan
  16. It used to be a lot easier to dj in the 70's there wasnt such a vast catalogue of music to go through and the parties had a lot more people in attendance so it was much easier to please everyone. The younger ones seem to want to listen to the music but generally wont dance until theyve had a skinfull of booze. Alan
  17. The start of this year 2010 has been the worst of any year and to put the boot in even more most of the popular hotels in the area are using agencies for their dj requirements. Great for the agent who earns a tidy sum but not so good for the dj's who work for them on a pittance. Alan
  18. I think the boat was missed many many years ago in the mobile disco market. I don't think anyone in the early 70's realised just how big a market it was going to be. To legitamise the industry they should have introduced a compulsary operators licence. Thats just my opinion of course. alan
  19. Ime getting the same sort of response good quality work is very sparse in the staffs area unless you want to work for peanuts and i ain't no monkey. Alan
  20. They never seem to pick a decent presenter for the show though. I though Peter Kay was awfull he looked like a wooden puppet with no personality perhaps the autocue was too far away and his so called jests left a lot to be desired. I think the show needs someone who's actually in the music industry to present it. My favourite bit was the Kasabian performance. alan
  21. I always ask for payment at the start of the night as its embarrasing to go round chasing people for payment especially when theyve had a few drinks. The music doesnt start until ive had the payment and of course I never work without a signed contract and contact name phone no and address. alan
  22. Ive heard the fbt speakers in a bar and they sound good alan
  23. Its a little slow here in staffordshire too but gonna stay possitive it certainly cant't get any worse. alan
  24. I use dj Intelligence and find it excellent well worth the money Alan
