  1. Hello all, I totally understand that Technics turntables rule the roost when it comes to playing vinyl. However as a beginner my budget wont even stretch to a decent second hand pair. Are there any other direct drive turntables that are worth considering when it comes to dj'ing? I dont 'scratch' or 'beatmix' I just play mostly northern soul vinyl in pubs etc, couple of times a month. Any advice would be great. Cheers Andy
  2. Thanks, but cant PM yet, aint done enough posts!!! :wall:
  3. Hi All, Id class myself as a newbie to dj'ing, having just been given a pair of budget turntables and mixer from a friend who has upgraded. Dont have an amp or speakers yet, so I need to buy a reasonable pair of headphones to hear my music through. Got any suggestions that wont cost me the earth? Any help appreciated!!
  4. Hi All, My name is Andy, im 42, and from Worthing in Sussex. Im a newbie to this DJ'ing lark, only done a few hrs on the decks helping friends out at pub gigs etc. My particular music interest is in Rock 'n roll and Rockabilly music and I am already getting a large collection of vinyl together with the hope of branching out on my own someday and dj'ing at rock and roll clubs etc. I have joined this forum to get advice on what equipment to buy, such as turntables / amps / speakers etc, and to improve my dj'ing skills and knowledge. Hopefully some of you will be able to
