  1. Worsley Court House, Manchester.

you have to run thru there system, it tripped at the start of the first dance due to the clapping and cheering... Rest of the night was like trying to get people dancing to a radio in the background.

funny thing the duty manager said to me before i started, "dont worry functions have a habit of finishing early here!!" I wonder why!!

  2. from our Local Paper The Gazette

BLACKPOOL'S brightest Illumination has been blasted by a world famous astronomer for ruining the view of the sky at night.

Sir Patrick Moore has slammed Blackpool Tower for installing of a green laser beam which shoots-out light at 10 minute intervals.

The beam, which it is claimed can be seen 30 miles away, is set to shine until the end of the Illuminations on November 4.

But the man who brought astronomy to the masses in his TV programme The Sky at Night, and a former chairman of the British Astronomical Association, said the light should be switched off.

He said: "Light pollution is a huge problem. I am not saying we should turn all the lights out, that is not practical, but there are some things which are very unnecessary.

"The Blackpool Tower light is certainly something I do not think we should be doing. I very much oppose it."

Academics from the University of Central Lancashire agree.

Dr Stewart Eyres from the Centre for Astrophysics said: "We don't notice the skies getting slowly lighter, but because the light on the Tower is so big, it stands out."

  3.

    EXAMPLE

Say you charge £300 per gig and you work 5 gigs per week thats £1500 then X it by 52 = £7800 is the max you could earn but Tax and running costs to come of that..

This is just a basic example and bookings are seasonal etc...

    Nik

NiK your maths is off a bit :D £1500 x 52 weeks is £78,000 tho i would work it out over 48, giving yourself 4 weeks off a year. That would be £72,000... which i think is doable(sp) with a lot of hard work.

write to them giving them say 3 tips on hosting a unique reception. give them something of value and ask them to call or email you will any questions. its a case of building up trust and making an impression.

keep in touch with them regularly with more tips etc and to your suprise they should come to you for a quote plus they are more likely to see your value and pay the proper rate for a disco.
