  1. Hi All, Not really that techy so need some advice I've a pair of Acme Imposibled and a pair of Littleled and was wondering if all four could be connected with one of the Imposibled as the master to use with the CA8 controller ? Any feedback would be appreciated
  2. Had experience with drunk punter at karaoke gig. Idiot shook a bottle of fizzy cheap bubbly and decided to squirt it over the dance floor and gues where most of it landed over me and my gear. Stopped everything immediately and put main lights on, politely told him that liquid and electric did not mix and that I was not prepared to risk my own life or my gear for one idiot so party was over. Went over to bar to explain to manager what had happened who was in agreement with me. Checked out my gear to see how much bubbly actually landed on gear luckily not half as bad as I'd thought so wip
  3. Thanks m8 I'll give them a try
  4. Hopefuly someone can point me in the right direction. I've not really had much demand for karaoke mainly one venue where I probably do 6 per year and collection of discs I have are more than adequate fot the age group of customers. Found mainly that it was the older classics that were requests rather than the chart hits. Because of this I stopped my monthly sunfly subscription as did't find a need. Having now decided to bring my collection up todate over the next 6 months I've now been booked for 3 kids karaoke parties (two for family which I cant refuse and doing at no cost) in feb
  5. Hi Guy's This may seem a silly question but here goes Currently I use a single drawer cdg player for when I do a karaoke disco which to be honest is only ever at one venue where I get quite a bid of work over the year. The karaoke nights are getting busier with lots of singers now coming forward so am struggling with the single cdg player so either play a quick track between singers or use the mic and ad lib at bit when queing up the next track. I'm thinking of buting a duoble drawer player but then though about when one track is playing with lyrics showing on the tv screen what happen
  6. Can someone clarify if the use of smoke/haze/fog machines is effected by the new smoking law. I dont think it is but just want to make sure I know the correct answer if asked. Got a bigger than normal gig coming up and want lights to look good but without the smoke may struggle Thanks in advance
  7. Thanks guy's. spoken to EVL tech support today who have asked me to e-mail details & address so they can sent out two sets to me free of charge. Only worry is e-mail address they gave me is same that I've used twice before with no response ! Hope fuuly I'll get replacement glass and if so well done to EVL for great Customer After Service
  8. Tried via e-mail if you could pass on support no that would be great. Thanks
  9. Hi Guy's, I've a pair of EVL Spins which have coloured glass gobos (best way I can describe then) which basicly colour the shapes on the wheel. Lost of these colured glasses have fallen off and been lost now leaving me wich just white coloured shapes which don't do the lights justice. I've contacted EVL twice now with still no reply, any ideas where I can get these from. I've tried to see if there is a local glass company who could make them for me but none in the area or surrounding areas where I live. Does anyone know if they can be purchased as a complete set just for me to stick on
  10. Hi Guy's, A month or so ago you may remember that I posted a topic about my dennon cd player which was not reading the disc. Thanks to you all for the advice, I started with the basic and cheapest option first of leaving the player indoors rather than store in my garage to see if it was a condensation problem. Good to report that I've had no problems since so thanks to all of you who gave advice. Another satisfied customer which just shows how having a forum like this is such a great thing as everyone shares advice and experiences to each other to help where they can. Something that
  11. Thanks for that Gary and thanks also for the e-mails you've sent me. I've left the player in a warm room switched on for a day now and have carried out a dummy run gig for the last 2hrs (I've not been standing there like a prat on my own but have been constantly playing, cueing, searching cd's) Up to now fingers crossed everything working ok so maybe it is a condensation problem. The other thing that I'm now thinking is, if it is consensation is I leave CD'S in the garage also so that may also contribute to the problem ? Thanks all for the advice I'll let you all know how I get on. Not
  12. Not very technical, can you elaborate a bit more on firmware and what I can do to try and rectify the problem Thanks
  13. No right or wrong answer here really depends on the individual. I would make sure though that my standard charge was covered unless prior agreement to a discount that you already mentioned. These nights most of the time go to plan but who knows something may go wrong or timings change and as a gap filler you could be asked to jump on the decks to fill in. I did a gig not so long ago which was a all day & night presentation for my local boys club. I was booked to do a I hr spot in the afternoon to keep the younger kids occupied then 2hrs in the evening for the older kids & paren
  14. Tried bringing into hose on last gig, played cd's on it for a couple of hrs continious play, inside house for a full day, in car for 2hrs to get to gig which was not a cold day, set up gear at 3pm, did not start gig until 1am (don't ask a Burns night that goes on until around 6am) Player ok first 10 min then same problem, 10 min later player fine for remainder of gig ?? I'm not techie but could it be something to do with the lens reader ? If so is it a costly repair
  15. Not too sure of how I would check the firmware ? Yes it is kept in a garage, did set up gear for gig in the afternoon so had about 5 hrs to climatise to room temp, however I do remember that it was a very cold night in the function room as no heating. I'll bring it into the warmth of the house a couple of days before my next gig and see if that makes a difference. Would it be best to keep it switched on for a day or two to aid climatisation ? Sorry forgot to mention they were Original cd's only
