  5. hi guys, looking a bit of advice, looking to take the plunge into digital djing and was looking at a laptop today, do you think the specs would be ok to run pcdj red 5.2, looking to put songs direct onto the hard drive then in a month or two get an external hd, heres the specs. fujitsu siemens amilo 732og intel celeron m390 processor 1.70ghz 1 mb cache 512 ram 60 gb hard drive 3 usb2.0 ports im on a tight budget so hopefully this machine will be ok. cheers darren
  6. well guys, nowadays life is cheap, i was stabbed three times on my back in the early hours of 12 july, lucky as im a big fella the wounds didnt go too deep, the surgeon told me id i was skinny they would have punchered the two lungs, saying about not being able to defend yourself is true, the guy who done it was arrested and the police said they know my version of events was correct but the guys girlfriend was told by him to tell the polive i attacted him first, in the end i had to drop chrges and he dropped his counter allegation, the justice system stinks, but at least when he was attacking
  7. just wanted to say thanks to all who posted a reply when i was looking some new speakers a few weeks ago, thanks especially to paul from 5star disco, i was looking at gemini or warrior powered speakers but after seeing a lot of negative comments on various sites i decided to spend a few hundred pounds more, i narrowed it down to a set of alto12'' powered speakers and a set of db technologies opera live series 405s, after hearing them both in the shop i decided to go with the dbs as i think they had a better sound and they are 15'' bass. i have to say they are 300watt rms but sound way louder,

sr per pm paul try the engery store in belfast, the gambler is on it, never heard a dance version of coward of the county, but if the like the old ones remixed then stars in clubland is a great cd, its also a mixed album too so if you need a break you can play a few songs from it, i use songs from it a lot and always go down well. darren
  9. whats the bass like on the altos?
  10. cheers steve, i am based in belfast, the local disco shop here has the dbs and the altos, heard the dbs sounded pretty good at 300 w rms a side, have yet to hear the altos, the altos are £140 cheaper than the dbs, whats the wattage rms on the altos? also most of my gigs are pub residaencies up to 120 people but for the weddings i do i would probably take along my existing passive 15 speakers and amp to join with the altos, it will give me an extra 300 watts? what do u think? cheers darren
  11. cheers, these are the new live series, the opera405live is rated at 250 plus 50 watts rms bi amped, the older opers series where less power think the opers 415 was around £250 watts, do u know or have u heard anything about the alto speakers. ?
  12. hi guys looking to buy some new speakers and am looking at either the db opera live 405 powered 15'' speakers at 300 watt rms or the alto ps4ha powered 12'' 400 watt rms . has anyone used any of these speakers or both and if so wich ones are best to go for. cheers
