  1. One way is to get numbers or e-mail addresses for funky house promoters (either by looking on fliers or going to there nights) and asking them for an address to send your demo's to. If you mixing is good enough and there decent people you may have a chance of getting a set. Other than that you could try putting on your own night. If your the promoter then you will definately ge to play!
  2. Tahnk you for all the advice that has been given, it is much appreciated. Anouther question though. How much do you think i should budget for leads and things and also, on the back of my mixer (vestax 05 pro) i have RCA line outs. Is it just a matter of connecting these to an amp/speaker system or the powered units and away I go or is there more equipment needed still to make it work? It may sound like a dumb question to yuo guys but its not to me! Cheers martin

Learning to mix on them will be an uphill struggle all the way. If you plan to mix in clubs then technics are your best bet even though they are expensive they are worth every penny. Although they are old they have proven there worth over nearly 30 years and I have yet to play in a club that doesnt use them.

Although not new to Dj-ing (i've been playing in clubs and at raves now for a few years) I am new to hosting events. Me and a couple of mates want to start our own night and I would like some advise on a sound system to get. They would be held in various locations (marques in a field, old farm houses, small / large halls) and hopefully to crowds of 80 - 100 (as the night gets known, maybe to more). Sound quality and reliability is para
