Tiësto - Concert In Victoria Park

Recommended Posts

Tiësto is the first DJ ever to have his own open air concert in Victoria Park on 31 July 2009. Calvin Harris confirmed as support.

Voted the number 1 DJ in the world by Mixmag. Headlining Coachella and Bonnaroo, and producing music and performing for the 2004 Olympics. Remixing everyone from Britney Spears, The Killers, Justin Timberlake, Jose Gonzalez to Calvin Harris. Selling out a 150 date world tour. Collecting awards and nominations from the Grammy's and MTV Music Awards. Getting a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. To anyone else, any one of these milestones might sound staggering indeed, but to the one-man DJ phenomenon known as Tiësto, it's just another regular day in the life.

Make no mistake, Tiësto is a man of "firsts". He was the first DJ to sell out dates at the Brixton Academy (two nights in a row, as a matter of fact), Alexandra Palace and most recently, the O2 Arena. He is the only DJ ever to sell out 12 Mondays in a row with his residency at Priviledge Ibiza last summer, where he played to over 100,000 people. And now Tiësto is the first DJ ever to have his own open air concert in Victoria Park, where he will also be previewing brand new tracks from his upcoming artist album.

Opening the show is the highly addictive electro pop star Calvin Harris, whose single Im Not Alone, which is remixed by Tiësto, is climbing the charts. This spectacular one-off concert will be held in the glorious confines of Victoria Park, promising to be one of the most extravagant concerts that Londoners have ever seen and looks to be a no-holds-barred, off the wall, bona fide event, hosted by the world's premiere DJ. Not that his shows in the past haven't already pulled out the stops - in fact, they don't exceed expectations so much as blow them wide open. No expense is spared as his live shows transform into fantastical celebrations of dance music itself. Visuals are kicked up into another level entirely, lightshows beam out as if into space, and of course Tiësto's wondrously euphoric brand of dance reduces the audience to a sweaty frenzy. Breaking entirely with the convention of faceless DJ's hidden behind mountains of equipment in a club, this will be a event like no other, and, fittingly, the first of its kind dedicated to the pioneering spirit that is Tiësto.
