Just bought the RCF Art 705-AS sub for £679. Was an ex-demo but was in perfect condition - looked like it hadn't been moved from where it sat in the shop.

Only played through it once so far in a fairly big hall along with my two Mackie 450s. Sounds amazing. Much better than the sound you get from the Mackie subs; and that includes the 800w SWA1801 which I recently borrowed off a mate.

And it certainly didn't heat up like an oven like the Mackies do.

Only downside is the weight; 37kg. But a dolly wheelbase will soon solve that problem. And it's still lighter than some of the competition; Mackie's 1501 coming in at 40kg, Cerwin Vega's CVA-115 at 42kg...

However there's the dB Technologies Sub 15D that's about 5kg less (as well as £50 cheaper b/n), but was recommended the RCF over the dB.

The other plus was that buying from a local retailer makes aftersales a whole lot easier; if the sub decides to pack in, RCF provide me with another one through the retailer whilst it's in for repair. Happy days!
