ChrisPointon 0
It's a nice venue, if you are in the main ballroom you'll need a fairly large P.A, because although the room isn't huge it has a very high ceiling and the stone walls don't help with the acoustics!. There is no stage, but an arch shaped alcove where the DJ is expected to set up halfway down the right hand side of the room. Although if you are on with a band / Artiste then they'll have probably already taken it! In which case there are plenty of sockets on each side. Access to the function room is from the top car park, follow the private drive all of the way around to the last car park at the end of the road, and access is through double doors which often have a small marquee type canopy over them. It is a bit of a trek from the car park, through a corridor, past the main bar and into the function room, there are a few sets of steps along the way although only 3 steps up on each set. Ask the staff and they'll put a wood ramp over the largest set of steps if you have flightcases on wheels!. It is a nice place with a good reputation, drinks are a little pricey though http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif Click for information and directions
