  1. I dont know about the best but I bought a couple of ADJ revo sweep units. I thimk they were only about £70 each. Tiny lights, weigh nothing, about the size of a portable CD player, but I was very impressed by their coverage and brightness. They have built in sound to light, plus DMX. Not the most exciting effect but they cover a really wide area. Im thinking of getting the ADJ mystic as I quite like the patterns that makes ont he dance floor
  2. I did, finally this strikes a blow with common sense! My understanding is that the only people who need official crb checking are those who work with children full time such as teachers etc, those of us who attend events with children occasionally won't need to go through this procedure, unless I guess you make a living as a full time chlordane entertainer, which I guess most of us don't. Is this everyone else's understanding of the new rules?
  3. Currently based in South Beds, probably covering South Beds, North Herts etc when I get going, though I used to DJ in Warwicksire about 20 years ago
  4. Hello Rory, I've also just recently joined the forum. Even though I have some technical knowledge myself, having looked around the forum, there are definately some very experienced guys here with a lot of good knowledge and experience, sure you will find what you need :welcome:
  5. Hi guys, DeeJayTee here, just joined the forum. I would currently describe myself as a 'hobby' DJ. I have been working in sound and lighting in various forms for around 20 years (theatre, recording studio, live sound, discos etc). Im interested in the technology and have built and designed some of my own loudspeakers/ amplifiers etc. Looking forward to both being able to share my knowledge, and learn more from you guys, as there is always something new to learn! Currently DJing for friends parties etc as a hobby, thinking of taking it up semi-pro again in the near future Greetings
