  1. evryone a winner eh? abviously not working hard enough tongue out icon
  2. i use sax and dottys, when you import the tracks, set it to all in one.that way it doesnt matter how you have the tracks named, it searches the whole file name.
  3. yup, another vote for the warriors, needed a little eq, but sound fine for the money!
  4. theres loads of 1u effects units about, i just sold a zoom 1201 on ebay, shame, you could have had that! i bought it when i first started karaoke just over a year ago, heard a few people running karaokes using echo or reverb and i thought it sounded crap so i never bothered fotting it into the rack. a couple of weeks ago i bought a new numark fx mixer with built in effects. set the rig up on saturday before a gig and gave it a go with a little bit of reverb and to be honest it sounds a hell of a lot better than with nothing at all. as long as you dont go over the top, just
  5. another vote for the w-audio 15s. bought a pair recently and used them last night for the first time, plenty of bass, build quality is excellent and the come with padded covers. bargain at £440 del.
  6. ended up buying a chepo pair of w-audio uhf for £85! i was a little sceptical but they are fine for karaoke for the masses. tried them last night, i was quite nervous as ive just changed my while rig, the only thing left was a behringer limiter/compressor which i didnt see a need to change. had the speakers a little lower than normal so i was worried about feedback but i had no problems at all. mics performed admirably, needed a little eq on the bass channels but that was about it.upped the volume towards the end of the night and still all fine. for the money i was very impr
  7. well, thanks for all of the replies! i did have my decision swayed for me a little thogh, bought 2 rockbags off a seller on ebay at the weekend.a 3u one for rack mounted mics and also bught a 4u , not sure what for, i'll probably use it for leads and bits for now but brand new they cost me £21 delivered for both so i had to have them! stopping with wireless for now, i'll either order a set of kams or w-audio twins for the punters, both £99 a pair. if i like them i'll probably get another set on different frequencies so i have 4 for the bigger groups. as for myself, i still
  8. batteries arent really a problem even if you dont use rechargables the price of panasonics etc at the pound shop makes them negligable. i do like wireless, butt weighing up the cost of them versus versatility for normal punters, the wired seem to be the way to go now. as i said, a year ago, i wouldnt have entertained the thought of wired mics, now im not so sure!
  9. thanks folks! still on probation! tongue out icon
  10. basically, when i started kjing, i didnt entertain the thought of using wired mics so went the wireless route with a cheap air of uhf carlsboros. now, dont get me wrong, theyre still growing strong and as ive had them over 12 months now i think theyve paid for themselves tenfold. ive been looking round over the last few weeks for a better set of rack mounted dual wireless mics, whilst weighing up whether or not to buy a decent set of duals for myself and the missus. bearing in mind that a pair of 19"uhf kams are £100, they should be fine for the punters and i also can still use
  11. ok ,thanks for the advice so far, having a google and reading the mackie user manuals seems to suggest its basically the same setup as a normal passive setup. the only difference being that there is no equalisation on a normal amp. so, the way im going to do it at the minute is- 1.presuming that 12 o'clock on the base and treble adjustment is 0db gain will set them to that and eq through the mixer. 2. both line and master set to 0 on the speakers. 3.play a track through the channel on the mixer, set the channel to 0 and up the master till i start to hit 0 on the leds.
  12. cheers tony, will do just that, as soon as the neighbours arent about! with regards to the psr-15s, i did have a pair of peavey 2rx hooked up to an ep2500, they sounded very muddy in comparison
  13. just a quick hello! i,ve been kjing for just over a year now in pubs and clubs, i don't do a lot, see it as a hobby really and i don't advertise, just rely on word of mouth really! got a little bored with my old rig a fewweeks ago so i decide to sell the lot and start fresh again, hence im sure i'll be looking for a few pointers from you lot when i get everythingtogether! cheers and thanks for allowing me on here!
  14. hi folks, i'd better say hello first as its my first post on the forum! i'm just looking for a little advice. having never used a pair of actives, i have just bought a pair of w-audio psr-15as. on the rear panel, amongst other things are bass and treble and line and master volumes. what do you reckon is the best way to set them, all on full and then tweak them on the mixer or down a little on all levels and again tweak them on the mixer? i'm really jujst trying to get the best sound i can out of them and thought that maybe dro[pping the levels on line and master would
