BigBen 0
Came across this, thought it could be useful to somebody on here: Open Stages It is Open Source software (ie. free) that enables you to draw a theatre/venue/hall/etc. in 3D and plan the layout. http://www.openstages.co.uk/images/examples/gunman_320.jpg http://www.openstages.co.uk/images/program_2.jpg Edited March 9, 2009 by TonyB [insert quirky comment]
vokf 0
Looks good- will have a play when I get a chance. Mapping out a venue and then modeling your kit, could help get your way in. ...but lots of work.

BigBen 0
Interesting! Forgot about this post! If it were easy enough to use, which I doubt, then it could be another service a DJ could use to help sell his service. Mapping out the room would enable the bride to see where everything would go and how his show would fit in with her chosen colour scheme (LED uplighters), how the disco lights won't be in people's faces and how his show could be tucked away in the corner with hidden speakers and one T-bar or centre-stage with gantry lighting and speaker stacks. It's far too elaborate for me though! [insert quirky comment]
digitaldistortion 0
Actually, I think you'll find that it's NOT as useful as it appears! I downloaded it for various reasons...and as far as I can see, you are limited to the 5/6 floorplans of existing theatres that come with it........ Cheers! Roy B. Dukesy 0
If you want to have a play with graphic software, try one of those home design packages with the easy to add furniture graphics. Look out for 'Design Workshop Lite' or trial download of 'SmartDraw House Design'. Sometimes you can find home design software in the supermarkets for a couple of quid. Worth a look actually as the results are not that bad. There are all sorts of uses - some packages will even let you import images.
