DJ_Ajay 0
QUOTE If it is free it will be not up to the job, otherwise they would charge you for it. Not really true, Freestyler DMX is a ok software. But for Easy use, I would get Sunlite 2002. I know sunlite costs, but you can download the software (the dongle costs the money) and put a free-ware Enttec dongle up to it (cheeper about $100 aus). I guess the bigger question is you want free software, what dongle are you going to use or already have because this will limit you to what software you can have.... BTW dongle is a peice of hardware that lets the computer talk dmx..... http://www.curlysbar.com.au/
analyst 0
QUOTE (ADS Entertainments @ Aug 15 2005, 11:49 AM)If it is free it will be not up to the job, otherwise they would charge you for it. ExactAudioCopy is free software, and is acknowledged by audiophiles the world over to be the best audio ripper money can't even buy! As one commentary said "Why would anyone use anything else?" Free and very much "up to the job" in fact, it beats every "paid for" software of its ilk hands down http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
Dukesy 0
I think what ADS was indicating was that the 'free software' may have restricted features or 'x' amount of use, or, in other words, not up to the spec of an 'all bells and whistles' program that is paid for. Generally, most 'free trial' or 'free download feature software' is either not the full spec or current 'beta release', but it doesn't mean that you can't try it out! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif And just to add, yes, some free software is very much ok for the intention of use but there is always a drawback, limit or 'bugbear. I'm refering to the general perception, BTW!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif Edited August 16, 2005 by discodirect
DJ_Ajay 0
Sorry to disagree, but its not the software that can control limitations, but with dmx it is more dongle and computer speed. If you don't spend the money on a dongle that can process your dmx for you, the fast computers will only be able to handle around 72 channels before they slow up. http://www.curlysbar.com.au/
