Doble Karaoke Cdg Player

Recommended Posts

Hi Guy's

This may seem a silly question but here goes

Currently I use a single drawer cdg player for when I do a karaoke disco which to be honest is only ever at one venue where I get quite a bid of work over the year.

The karaoke nights are getting busier with lots of singers now coming forward so am struggling with the single cdg player so either play a quick track between singers or use the mic and ad lib at bit when queing up the next track.

I'm thinking of buting a duoble drawer player but then though about when one track is playing with lyrics showing on the tv screen what happens when queing up the next track does that appear on the tv also or is there something that you do ??

Any help would be appreciated and also suggestions for a dabououble drawer player, as don't do loads of karaoke don't want to break the bank as probably only do a dozen max karaoke gigs a year

Hi,i dont think it would not show the cueing up words on the screan,if your only doing afew karaoke gigs a year why upgrade, and personally i think it would be better if you just play a quick song inbeween it keeps you going and keeps the crowd alive, but come on the songs dont have to be full blown 2-3mins worth you can just edit and chop them down using audacity plus then it will give time for the last singer to sit down and the next singer to get up and ready to rock, plus i dont like to many people around my gear,To many people = problems

dont buy one bro. just play a track in the time you take to change the disc.

do you use a cdplayer for music b t w ?

if you do use a double draw deck you can pause it as soon as the title begins to appear, as this lets the singer know their song is on next or just cue it up as you would a cd and let the screensaver run.

personally i pause when the title shows.

i play songs in between singers anyway, i dont rush them through all night long.

same here i always play songs in between karaoke tracks as some people just want to have a bit of a boogie in between

this way you keep both happy the people who wanna sing and the people who arnt fussed on karaoke

as for players if you really want a multidrawer ??? i used to have a jvc/rsq or whatever they are called now ??? triple disc player . not sure if you can get them anymore but it was pretty good

I use kam twin decks or numark twin CDG decks (19" rack mount two single drawers)i use a simple video switch so only one cable to the tv . when you flick the switch you can see the cued up title at the beginning of the Karaoke track. I use a separate CD player for music.

This allows me to have the next song cued up for either two songs in a row or disappearing singers ie bottlers , smokers or people gone to the loo etc etc . as i say we have lots of singers in our pubs , not everyone has and one player is enough for some people.

I also like that the players are two machines in one case this gives some (but not complete)back up if one should fail.

I have had this in the past where one side fails at least i can use the other side to host a show.

I don't think there is a wrong or right way to do it, I just have found a way that suits me and my customers.
