Gary 0
In stark contrast to 1977, we've got some absolute classic tunes to choose between from the 19 No.1's of 1988 Kylie debuted with "I should be so lucky", and Yazz debuted with (the damn awkward to mix near the vocals) "The only way is up" - both holding No.1 for 5 weeks each. 4 weeks at number one, was a trick favoured by Wet wet wets charity cover of "With a little help from my friends", Cliffs "Mistletoe & Wine, and Glenn Medeiros' "Nothings going to change my love for you." - One way to tell these tunes apart was that you didn't need a plastic bucket for one of them...but the other two... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/yucky.gif Tiffany was wrong in thinking that she was alone (now), as The Pet Shop Boys "Heart", Enya's "Orinoco Flow" and Robin Becks cokecola song "First Time" all kept her company in the "3weekers" club The "2weekers" club had a larger membership, featuring Belinda Carlises "Heaven is a place on Earth", Aswads "Dont turn around", S'Expresses theme from S'Express, Bros' "I owe you nothing", Phil Collins' "A Groovy kind of love", The Hollies "He ain't heavy - he's my brother", and Whitney Houstons Olympic theme "One moment in time..." Meanwhile Fairground Attraction thought that just one week at No.1 was just "Perfect", U2 quelled their desire for a 1 week No.1 too, and The Timelords only spent 1 week "Doctorin' the Tardis" (which is several decades less than The Doctor has spent trying to fix what must be the most unreliable vehicle in anyones history). It's voting time once more.

mick 0
I would have gone for Yazz or Tiffany except the last gig that played them at they both bombed the floor http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif , agree both good 80's tracks went for Belinda as it is popular with wide range of ages because of the Club re-mix's. - Mick Edited August 8, 2005 by mick
