    allofmp3

There was a previous discussion on this Here Basically it's all a bit woolly. The site is theoretically legal in russia, as in they comply with russian copyright laws (which don't cover mp3's). This was proved by a court case in March, which upset the record companies somewhat. Therefore according to the Berne convention, it is legal for us to download from there. I am also contemplating trying them out (paying by paypal, wouldn't trust my credit card details there) I see there are 2 elements of risk here, a) you are very unlucky and record company picks you as a test case,
  2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh! Durham town is still going round in my head http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif Help!!!!!!
  3. Yep you were right, Bob Sinclair it is, definitely a top tune. Thanks for all your replies. And on 17th October it gets released. Reckon it'll make it to number 1? I reckon it's got a decent chance. Oh, and as for ADS's suggestion of Durham Town, well I had to go find out what he was on about... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/oops.gif Don't do it!!!!!! It's another annoying tune, from his era, that you keep humming afterwards. It's a southern conspiracy I tells you.
  4. Right my OH is bugging me to find out what this tune is, we heard it whilst driving through Germany and France several times a month ago, heard it on Chiltern FM recently's evening music control show recently too. It's quite cheesy and dancy. It has a strong bass line, and the chorus is mainly lots of whistling http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif Any ideas, I can't find it anywhere, she thinks it's a short title with love in it?
  5. You need Quicktime plugin to view Jeb. If you are still on Win98 you will have to find the old version 6.5.2 to install, I found it at winark.com
  6. Too late! Just found it about 10 minutes ago, while searching european charts trying to find another cheesy song I heard over there a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe it had made it to number 1.
  7. QUOTE I get a lot of international calls on my land line, when I answer them there is nothing there. Anyone know whats occuring here? That happens when the place trying to sell you something has a PC autodialling phone numbers for their operators, it dials more numbers than necessary so their operators always have a call ready to go to. If you wait for a minute or so you'll probably then get to talk to someone if you want to.
  8. I've got a sick Studiomaster 500 amp that I want to bring back to life, really need to get hold of some circuit diagrams as it's not a simple amp inside. Anybody got any/know where I can get some schematics etc? Richard
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I spot one fairly major flaw here. As I understand it, PPL only applies to public venues ie Clubs, pubs etc. It has no jurisdiction at private events ie Village hall etc. wedding receptions, private parties etc. (3) The DJ will not be able to make or keep multiple digital copies of any sound recording, whether in the database or separately. (7) Copies will be for the sole use of the registered DJ for the purpose of public performance by the DJ as specially featured entertainment. They can only be performed in venues licensed for public performan
  10. I don't know about the Tascam decks specifically, but in the disco cd players I've had in bits, they have used standard mechanisms inside, hence replacement laser units etc can be cheap if they are a common mechanism. I usually reckon with CD players that it's not worth the cost involved in getting someone else to repair it. If you're not afraid to open things up and experiment, risking not having a working CD player at all, then go for it. On the same lines, I never buy second hand CD players unless they are a real bargain, or I know they have had very little use and are not very old,
  11. You should be able to use them with a passive system as long as you are placing your power amp next to your remote speaker. Just think of them as an alternative phono lead, so anywhere you would use a phono lead, ie going from CD player into mixer or mixer into amp, they should be fine. Try sticking the signal out of your amp into them and they will get very upset.
  12. Well if I was going to use my PC for both scenarios, I would actually put both hard drives in caddies with one caddy holder in PC. That way there is no chance of any confusion over which hard drive anything is saved on. Also the 2 systems are kept completely separate, minimising chances of viruses etc. from your internet access drive affecting your DJ drive. And if you going to use it as your main machine for DJing, without taking spares with you make sure you have the CD players and CD's to do a show without it if necessary. On my in car MP3 system, I got fed up with fiddling about wit
  13. Hi All, Sorry I've taken ages to reply, (see thread on Italian tunes in the music section) but been very busy recently, can now sit down and use the computer for a bit. This was a wedding do, where the Bride was half Italian, in sunny Bedford. Thanks to everyone who replied with all the suggestions of Italian connected tunes, I was amazed at how much people had to say of use on the matter. particularly Digital Discos offer to sort out a load of tunes for me. As it happened I didn't need that many songs, but I know if I do in the future, where to come. The gig went really well, eve

    Italian Tunes?

Ahhh, They have requested a couple of Sinatra songs, I hadn't realised old Frank has Italian connections, that probably explains it. Mikeeeeee, is I PASSI CHE FACCIAMO the song by adriano celentano you were trying to spell? Someone mentioned Bella Ciao, anyone know who that's by? I've also realised Numero Uno by Starlight should go down well too. I think the Fast Food Rockers can stay in their pizza box on this occasion. I'll look up those other suggestions later, thanks everyone. Cheers Rich

    Italian Tunes?

Hi, I'm doing a wedding this weekend, bride is half Italian. Can anybody think of tunes people will know with an Italian connection? The best I've come up with so far is Mambo Italiano. Maybe I should remix the Cornetto adverts? Cheers Rich
