    Irish 40th

Hi Flash, check the following out, not sure if all are available as downloads but most of them will be, all high tempo songs should keep the irish contingent happy, some are rebel songs so not sure if they will be suitable for play in the UK, will leave that up to yourself. If you are looking for more traditional Irish stuff check out sharon shannon, she is a popular traditional irish musician, but I don't even play that type of stuff over here normally unless the client specifically asks for it. Corrs..............................................Toss The Feathers Goats Don't Shave.....
  2. Gonna go with the behringer minimix to start with at any rate, and a mixture of the 100's discs and mastermix discs that I can get on e-bay. I already have and LCD screen (missus won't be able to watch TV in bed the nights I'm working LOL) so overall setup costs don't appear too bad. I'll be using Numark cue initially as this is primarily a DJ program maybe this should be a worry but if it gathers momentum I have no problem investing in a specialist Karaoke program. Like I said in an earlier post Karaoke is not all that widespread over here so peoples expectations aren't gonna be that high, in
  3. One time a really drunk punter lost his balance and came crashing into my deckstand toppling it over. It was a wedding and about 12.30am (weddings here go on untiil 2,30am at least), Music cut out obviouslly and one of the groomsmen helped me pick everything up, amazingly there was no damage (lucky I don't use a deckstand with lights) so I played on as I didn't see why everybody should suffer because one guy got wasted. If there had been any damage i could have dealt with it as I always have spares in the car, and billed the couple for repairs. Deliberate damage would have been another matter
  4. Gonna order two of those LCD brakets as I have some spare poles at home, it's probably the best solution. My question is how do I fit them to my LCD's? Do i need a clamp of some sort? Thanks for the advice by the way I'll probably go with those discs you advised me to look at too Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks will look into that, would have probably ended up buying something totally unsuitable but for ye're advice. I'll let ye know how I get on cheers
  6. thanks for the advice guys, will be going 100% digital with it, I may start off with one screen and see how I go. karaoke isn't nearly as widespread over here as it seems to be in the UK so it'd be a real niche for me, with the amount of young guys getting into DJing I need something to stay ahead of the game. Should be a bit of fun too looking forward to it. Anybody any advice on a mic splitter as I only have two inputs on my Denon mixer and no way I'm buying a new mixer for something that may not even work out very well for me. By the way do you guys sing yourselves to get things started or
  7. I keep my top songs on my internal hard drive (about 3000) and also carry my full Cd collection to gigs for the rarer stuff, don't wanna clog up my computer putting 20,000 songs on their when I would never use 95% of em. I use the Denon HD4500 so can switch easily between digital /CD and that works great for me
  8. Don't know much about Goodparty but I know that when clients try to haggle with me I take none of it, if they want somebody cheaper I will happily point them in the right direction but let them know you get what you pay for in terms of equipment, experience and professionalism. It has become a problem of late though, there are alot of young guys now getting into DJing, far more than there was before in my area anyway, all undercutting established guys like myself. At least with weddings (my main cash cow) hotels won't recommend them as a trusted supllier until they have done several gigs witho
  9. Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I am looking to get into karaoke, (i currently do parties and weddings). Firstly where would ye recommend getting the songs from, is there a reasonably priced collection with all the classics I could start with. I looked at mastermix and they seem very expensive. I intend to start doing it with numark cue initially, and if it takes off I'll get a specialist program. i use a Denon Dn-X500. It only has 2 mic outs and I will need one of those for myself obviously. Can anybody recommend a mic splitter or what do you guys use. Please d
  10. hi guys, i'm new to the forum how do ye do, would you believe I actually turned down a gig last friday for this very reason. A client rang on thurs (short notice i know) to do a gig fri and wanted to supply the music on an external hard drive. It was all alternative stuff that I had never heard of. I politely declined the gig as i said that that was not my type of music and couldnt do myself justice playing music I didn't know, gave her the number of a different service who took the gig. My main worry was that this was in my local area and potential customers could be at the gig and think thi
  11. hi guys, I'm a newbie on the site hope ye are all well. Quick question, I'm currently running two EV Sx 300E's with amp and i want to add a powered sub as I have started to get alot of weddings in bigger venues and find my system running out of breath. Firstly i was thinking of the JBL Eon 518s 500w RMS as it has a built in crossover and is a good weight at just 30kg and I've heard good things about JBL. Would that sub be ok to run with my EV's and how exactly do I hook them up, I'm assuming that I run two xlr's from my mixer into the sub inputs, and run two xlr's back out and into the ba
