I've just found this forum and it looks great. Hopefully I can offer help and assistance and also learn a few tricks.

I started DJing professionally when I was 17 and did it full time for about 15 years, then got bored and gave it up. I was persuaded to make a 'come-back' for my niece's birthday party, then my daughter's party, then her friend's party, then her friend's friend's party, etc, etc and I'm now back doing it once or twice a month. I'm totally digital now, with everything being run from my laptop, although I had a desktop for about 9 months before investing in a laptop.

That's about it.

And I know about the confusion over my name, although it should be quite obvious that I've got a space in mine http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif , but I am in the process of modifying it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/amen.gif

Hope you find it as much as a great resource as everyone else does http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

We have an under-used knowledgebase area that could well do with some contribution from 'our seasoned entertainers' (hint hint)! All info, tips and experience shared very much appreciated!!!

Enjoy!

I use Winamp with two plug-ins, one that recognises when the current song is going to end and starts the next one (and it's configurable to your own desires) and Winamp[Key]Controller, which allows you to create all the one-key keyboard shortcuts you need. Been using this set-up for almost two years and I've never had a problem.
