Every karaoke singer has the x factor whether that be "the x factor" or the what the xxx factor ...they all have it to get up and sing takes bravery if you cant and if you can we all love an ego boost

I am based in Glasgow but i have no restrictions to where i go as long as the client is willing to cover the costs i know some djs are very territorial but in my opinion if the dj in the area is not supplying the required services then competition is inspiration to upgrade and become the service that they will use i have been the guy who was being looked over and re assessed my position and now i feel i am offering good service with appropiate charges

After reading an old thread about the commitments it reminded me that mustang sally was my first karaoke song with friends one night all big karaoke fans and after much nagging and moaning for me to sing a song i said i would sing "Mustang sally" but thinking i was being smart i said it had to be the commitments version only to be shown full a4 page MUSTANG SALLY - THE COMMITTMENTS nothing else on page just that...so much for being smart but in the end i loved it and still enjoy singing the songs from the film now So tell us what was your first karaoke song and how did it go?

i happened to me about 6 years ago at a youth club disco where a youth threw a can of irn bru at me about 1 hour before end of gig. I turned of music told them all that the gig was over due to one idiot thinking i was target practice When the group leaders came up to ask what happened i explained that i refuse to be target practice for anyone and that the safety of myself and equipment was priority so the gig was over and i was going home i got lots of apologies and pleads to finish but i felt i had to stand my ground and refused to continue Unfortunately for the little oik that

How Much Would You Charge...............
jukeboxdj replied to AlexEntertainment's topic in Marketing & Business Matters
this can be true but you need to make sure you dont outprice your market it is too easy to think i am worth so much only to find that the dj down the road is not quite as good but cheaper leading to punters trying him out i dont advertise and all my bookings are word of mouth which suits me i charge an average rate and make a sustainable wage from it a local dj put his prices up 3 times in one year and by the end of it he was struggling for bookings as he was the same dj with the same equipment only charging an extra £80 from the beginning of the year Invest in your equip -
couldnt have said it any better i have been at some right spit and sawdust parties and if it dont work its a killer but the only thing to do is make sure the next gig is top quality dont let the gig linger in your mind just get prepared for the next one :photo:
