I've always updated my laptop with service packs etc and never had a problem. Got MS office on there, photo programs to edit customers photos from cameras and phones, bluetooth software to accept pics from customers etc...never had any issues.

Depends if you want the cheap option or not: Cheap option would be to use Winamp with the MP3+G plugin... Next would be something like sax n dotty which uses winamp behind the scenes whilst providing you with a nice karaoke user interface. yeah I had one....I think I paid £500 for it when it first came out, so if it is all working £50 is a bargain! The KAOS pad was also good for kids discos etc as you could make the mic channel go high or low pitch and get the kids to speak into it...very funny!

I've got a gigaport and 2 soundblaster mp3 external soundcards....very happy with all of them....use the gigaport in my DJPC and soundblaster for laptop
