ChrisPointon 0
Must admit that I place a great deal on promoting the fact that I tailor the function to the exact requirements of my (potential) client(s). This is evident on my Website, Any Advertising, Business Cards, Request Slips etc. To this end, I try and gently push my client to forward a request list of their own. What the heck! - it makes my job a damn site easier http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif . Often this can be a list of 10 "favourites" together of course with the Bride & Grooms first dance where applicable. Sometimes it can turn into a blow by blow account of the exact playlist track by track, although I do subtly point out that it can be advisable, for the enjoyment of their guests and smoothness of the evening to allow requests and some discretion and choice from the D.J. They are after all booking me partly for my experience and unlike them, I have attended over 2000 weddings. There is a right way and a wrong way of going about this, and it is not my place to argue with them - they pay the bills after all http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif

C.S 0
I am playing clubs 90% of the time and i am willing to play just about anything to give a crowd a good time.If you play a wedding then you have just one chance to make someones once in a lifetime party (hopefully) perfect, its difficult, if like eskie you can experiment and make it work then brilliant but if you need to play cheese and thats what they want then play it,they are paying for it ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I will try anything, once! Ian Stewart 0
I am similar to Eskie in that 80% of my bookings come from people who don't want cheese, and i play other party tunes. however if required i can cheese like the next man. mobile_dj_crooks 0
If your into rap, here are the new stars (and new hits) Pharrel Lil John Bone Crusher Ying Yang Twins David Banner Gang Starr State Property 50 Cent i'll add more...can't think of any more for now <font color="#008000">laterzzzzz </font> <font color="#0000ff">DJ_CROOKS </font> mobile_dj_crooks@hotmail.com <marquee behavior="alternate"><font color="#008080">Heh, I was a moderator :S</marquee>
Eskie 0
Gang Starr... new http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wacko.gif C'mon mate, they've been around since the late 80's! DJ Premier from Gang Starr has produced for people such as Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie and others while Guru (also from Gang Starr) has done loads of other projects, such as the Jazzmattazz albums. They're one of Rap's most influential groups. Pharrel has a wicked voice and is the flava with the ladies at the moment. Make sure y'all buy the David banner tunes cos otherwise he may get angry and you don't wanna see him angry! PS. Almost forgot, QUOTE 1) JT Playaz - Lets Get Down (Funky house with sample from said original and a cool rap, floor filla) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbdown.gif This is truly awful. It is based on Kool & The Gangs-Celebrate and is about the same standard as the travesty that was DJ Miker & Sven-Holiday rap in the 80's, although the rap is even worse if that's possible!!! Not meaning to diss you Euphonics, and obviously everyone's taste is different, but I'd be extremely surprised if you found even one person that is into Hip-Hop who thought that this was a 'cool rap'!? Euphonics 0
I love it, but im more of a disco person. Hip Hop certainly aint it for me (Tim Westwood has got a lot to answer for with his 'flava'. got to be the worst show out there)
Eskie 0
QUOTE Tim Westwood has got a lot to answer for with his 'flava'. got to be the worst show out there Agree completely. OK, fair enough the guy knows his music, but he tries so hard to be 'street', but he's just a middle-class public school boy that sounds like a plonker. He should try to be more like David Rodigan. This is a white guy who seriously knows his reggae, but doesn't try to act/speak like a Jamaican black guy all the time. He's long been accepted and respected in the reggae world, yet Westwood, puts on that stupid accent and is not respected by many people into rap.
