Eskie 0
QUOTE Loads of Arabic music plus our swing singer me and YES... a belly dancer ..mmm ... Petee, have you ever done a gig with a belly dancer before? if not prepare to be completely transfixed. The way they move is unbelievable http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/221.gif I did a 4 month contract in the Damascus Sheraton once when I used to work for the Bacchus/Juliana's group. At most of the contracts there was a changeover period, ie the new DJ would work with the dj who was due to leave for 3 or 4 days to give him a chance to see what tunes were popular and so the old dj could show the new guy around and introduce him to everybody. But at this club the old DJ wasn't there when I arrived as due to sickness he'd been flown home before the end of his contract. So on my first day I was shown around the club by a local guy who was the sound engineer in the club. It was in the afternoon, and he was showing me the mixing desk to control the sound for the house orchestra and the lighting panel etc and explaining which lighting was normally used when the Belly Dancer was performing. Later that night, I was in the DJ box ready for the start of my first show. The Arabic orchestra have just started and I've got all the sound settings just right and am eagerly awaiting the sight of the Belly Dancer. Talk about jaw-dropping, I sat mesmerised at the sight of this stunning girl and what she was doing with her hips http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/blink.gif (I was only 21 at the time!). In my admiration at this sight to behold I completely forgot about what I was supposed to be doing until I suddenly realised that the sound engineer was running toward me motioning that I was supposed to be operating the lighting controls for her performance http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wub.gif So enjoy it Petee, if she is an authentic Arabic Belly Dancer, you'll be enthralled http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/188.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East! Eskie 0
QUOTE Belly dancers normally smell pretty rank in my experience! Chris S; No Mate, you obviously ain't been to the right places. Some of em are absolutely stunning, but agreed there are many that are gruesome http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif In the middle east there are generally two types; the ones from Lebanon who are usually younger, slim but very curvy and appeal more to the western vision of beauty and then are the Egyptian belly dancers who are normally much larger ladies and when they start shaking there is normally a LOT to shake!! They appeal more to the older Arabic blokes who aren't so keen on thin waifs! If the belly dancer you saw was Egyptian then the comment was more than understandable, however when you see a few Lebanese ones, you'll be smitten http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/188.gif QUOTE the belly dancer on Friday was a vision .. ...sounds like Petees was one may have been Lebanese http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East!
