Andy Westcott 0
No, posts on this forum don't count, I'm afraid. Anyhow, I've just come home from work and am sat in front of a 15" screen attached to a Pentium 133 running Windows 98SE. I have a small blister on my finger from excessive use of pliers, as I had a works order to attach 600 linch pins to a piece of chain with a hook on the end. I've done 250 so fAR. I might finish the rest tomorrow if I can be bothered. After tea I have to take the missus shopping, then run my daughter up to Honiton, then come home again. Then I'm going to have a bath. Shall I go on??
Kingy 0
Today I have done the Pat testing for a local doctors' surgery. Believe me, that was boring. I was that bored I contemplated ringing 0845 2575690. tongue out icon Then I thought about it.............. :hurt:

Kingy 0
Andy, if you ever get that desperate again, ring me; It has to be better than what you so nearly did..... Duely noted. It was a close shave........ I have spent the day in a dark room just thinking about it...... :fear:
Andy Westcott 0
OK. I'm currently listening to 'Contact' by Edwin Starr on the headphones - a pair of open backed Senheiser HD 495s. Very good guality sound - the most neutral I have ever heard. Oh - I've got it up loud, because I'm pretending that I'm doing a disco, see?? It's just got to the bridge bit now.... "Eye to eye ..... contact...." Love it!! Just encued Gonzales' 'Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet'. Here we go - it's the 12" version....... Lovely percussion start - nice deep thump which sounds nice over my speakers wot is bigger than wot Kingy's is....... Bit of whistling going on........ Into the main intro bass line...... "Haven't stopped dancing yet..... since we met on our first date...." Right, scrapped that because I've just encued Amii Sstewart's 'Knock On Wood', but this is a version with a difference: I've edited it to begin with a huge clap of thunder, this produces a superb deep rumble from my sound system, and happens at various strategic points through the song - kids down my school love it, and they call it the Thunder Song. When I first fired it up, several girls squealed - love it! "He sees to it.... that I get enough..... feel his touch all over you know it means so much IT'S LIKE THUNDER... BANGG! CLAP!! RUMBLE!! Love it! Right - what next? Dee Lite - 'Groove Is In The Heart'. Funky as anything. Got fed up with it now - let's try Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love'. I love the way her voice goes into stereo reverb....... "Ooooooooooo...... I feel love, I feel love, I feel love, i feel love, I feeeeeeel love..." Right. Next up - Fox - 'S S S Single bed'. Bit of nostalgia for me , this one. Years old. " C c c come, come inside; Ho! I've been expecting you here tonight; Sha - sha - sha - shoes, shake 'em off; While I go ant turn the music down soft;" Class. Sheer class. Next, then.... Hello and 'New Youk Groove'. Another nostalgia trip for me. "Many years since I was here On the street I'm just pacing my time away To the left and to the right a town that stumbles to the sky (??) and it's outta sight in the dead of night" Absolutely brilliant. Missus has gone to sleep on the settee I think. Next up is Jim Gildstrap's 'Swing Your Daddy'. Yet another nostalgia trip. I remember waking up in the middle of the night having left the radio on, and hearing this on radio luxembourg. It still has that middle of the night feeling for me. "Swing your daddy sexy mamma you got his love (something) out of control now don't you wanna" Love it! Next: Julio Iglesias - 'Begin the beguine' I just adore this guy's voice on this track. Recorded with deep reverb, big room style. Just turning it up a bit more...... OK, that'll do. Must seriously think about going to bed now. I hope I've succeeded in boring someone. Am I boring anyone??

Andy Westcott 0
Was that the best you could come up with, after all the trouble I went to to tell everyone what I was doing?? As for the worms, I think I might have as well. I'll get the missus to shine a torch and have a look later - they emerge at night, see, and by shining a torch up there you can sometines surprise them before they get a chance to go back in. Andy Westcott 0
Oi!! Watchitt you! But back to the subject of blisters, popping them isn't a good idea as it exposes fresh, tender skin beneath. If you wait a few days the blister goes down and you end up with a tougher layer ready for the next assault. smile icon I'm currently watching 'Shipwrecked'......
