phil w 0
The Prodigy B-52 is not a cheap bit of kit, but what you are paying for is an all in one console with extreme flexibility. I have had one for about 5 weeks now and managed to use it at a gig 2 hours after purchasing it (i couldn't resist it). It has many different sound effects you can add to the music such as flange, echo, phase to mention a few and has 3 microphone inputs. One massive plus is that it is light and comes with its own flight case which would probably cost £200 on its own. My fav feature is the loop function when lining up the next track. Ever since i have had it i have been getting rave reviews from clients on the standard of my mixing which ultimately will hopefully knock on to future work. The Prodigy also looks very nice when its set up, rather than a mixer that looks like an eyesore, you find your audience often admiring it and the generous lcd screens are a nice cool blue colour. Also, i havnt used this function as yet, but the Prodigy has the capability of storing tracks on its memory card, so in theory its possible you dont need to take cds with you, but i would never do that just in case. There are many other features on the console which i havnt explored as yet and various different inputs but all in all, although expensive, i think its one of the best things ive purchased, i cant fault it. On the equalisers, you can cut out bass, mid or tops at the push of a button which sounds good on the right track. Its a pro bit of kit and can only enhance your reputation. Corabar Steve 0
I've just had another look at it. There appears to be a toggle switch to the left of the crossfader that is labeled Hamster??????? I've just looked into this & it does indeed have a switch marked Hamster. It reverses the crossfader apparently. You learn something new every day. What a ridiculous name for a switch! Edited August 16, 2007 by Corabar Steve Steve... HalfPint 0
We had one plugged into one of our system at the Egham meeting. The quality of the output from the Denon was much greater. At the levels we were pushing you could hear the output stage distorting. We played the same track / same CD / same leads on the denon... clear and clean. however it looked good. jeffwall 0
Think i'm being scammed here, came accross the prodigy at a price of 700 us dollars (inc postage) from a comany called "DJ MALL" They advertise on all the UK free advert sites, and have only a contact email address!....no phone numbers or company details. so i mailed them for thier details to possible purcase one of these....I got a reply saying "I would need to send money by electronic transfer, as their paypal is not working!!" I mailed back asking again for company details.....they sent me the following......... Dj mall & Co. Address :595 lower allen street City :hudson falls State:new york Zipcode:12839 Phone # :+19547364337 Country USA I can not find them on any search ive done or even on the white paper directory in the usa. Scam?? At that price I reckon so! But its hard to believe they have listed all loads of DJ gear here.... http://london.adzooks.co.uk/for-sale/compu...er-1087783.html (sorry dont know how to make link smaller) Just put DJ MALL in google, and you'll see the company listed many times on free sites anyone had dealings with these ? or scam?
