milhouse 0
The 5 CD Dance collection that DMC released - always something on there thats upbeat that you can play. How many of us have been in the situation where you are chatting to someone - usually drunk female customer - and you suddenly realise there's 30seconds left on deck A and nothing has been loaded into deck B yet ?? NRG Roadshow 0
As soon as I start Track A I load up track B, then only when it's all ready to mix do I start chatting. I do the same..... But what about if the punter is chatting at the point your suposed to be firing up the next track......and you forget coz your chatting..... The resulting 2 or three seconds of silence is not a sound I like to hear..... But I admit I have been distracted a couple of times :hide:

Swingcats 0
my usual mistake is forgetting to turn the fader up and pressing "go" and nothing happens!! Here a neat trick, At home in front of my computer I choose three tracks, that work one after another, guantenteed. I get a free download audio mixing programme like wavepad, and seamlessly join the three tracks together, then I burn them to CD. I then have three for a wee, giving me 15 mins to go leave the room, eat, ring home, whatever. I have one sorted for each decade. :mikee: I call it three for a wee. RichardP 0
Yes a DJ friend of mine popped on some DMC Megamix or other once for background music ... and a member of the band that was doing a session later piped up and said "what's this, is this the 'DJ goes for a 5h!t mix?' " Edited October 16, 2007 by RichardP
ian 0
How many of us have been in the situation where you are chatting to someone - usually drunk female customer - and you suddenly realise there's 30seconds left on deck A and nothing has been loaded into deck B yet ?? I'm rarely in that position, since I'm pretty single minded about getting the next track cued. But you know that sometimes there's a crisis you need to attend to. So, if I get into that position, if there's enough of the track left (say 30 seconds), I'll loop it to gain me an extra 30 seconds to cue the next track. Failing that, my last ditch strategy is the old "pullup ... rewind" and start it again.
Norfolk DJ 0
Ultimate Number ones of the 70's. Even better because 42 original artiste tracks cost me £1 from poundland.
