Dukesy 0 Posted June 9, 2008 Report Share Posted June 9, 2008 When I set up at a wedding function, if the tables provided for the stage (or usually left on the stage) are 'undressed', I ask for a table cloth/s. I personally feel that the presentation on the tables should be in the same theme as the rest of the tables in the room. Sometimes, I provide my own cloth. What do you do? I have fold-up stands which support my CD cases, an Ultimax Winch 'n' Wheel stand for decks, spare amps, lighting controller etc. plus S&H starcloth booth. I never use tables at venues. As I use iRock lights, I transport then in a big flightcases that hold 2 so use those to rest cd's on etc.. I used to have the ultimax stand and the fold-up tables etc, etc but it was all extra stuff to lug around, and pretty pointless if the venue left 2 - 3 tables in the area I'm performing! I'd only end up placing more kit under the tables or out of sight anyway! Sure, if no tables have been supplied then of course, a pain! But most of the gigs I cover always seem to leave a table out! TonyB 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Share Posted June 11, 2008 I used to use venue tables but did have problems a couple of times where they didn't have a spare one available or I had to go chasing after the venue manager to sort one out. I also like one of just the right size. Too small and I can't get everything on it, too big and it sticks out at the side of the star cloth. Might be an Essex thing but its not very often I get one supplied automatically. Perhaps they are afraid I'll walk off with it smile icon Link to post Share on other sites
