Leonna 0
I don't use either technically. As at the moment don't need to move my Cd's around that much and couldn't justify spending around £30 per flight case I have 2 large CD storage and 1 small (although could do with another large one now) from Ikea £4.99 for large ones and £1.99 for small (I think) They have a zip top so you can cover them up, and carry them about easily. For me at the moment they have done the job. I prefer to have them in a case type environment so that I can see at a glance where each CD is without having to flick through lots of pages. I have the CD's sorted into 1 large case having Albums by single artists in Alphabetical order and the other large case has compilations sorted in Now (numerical order) then by Decades starting at 50's moving on. If I buy new CD's it is easier to slot them into the right areas and move the CD's around than it might be in a CD wallet. The smaller 1 takes the over spill from both. DJ Marky Marc 0
Case logic wallets are perfect, light easy to use and safe... no point in lugin all that exxtra plastic about and takin up space.. 260 cds per case is about the right size
bluejools 0
i use the hanging filing type cd storage - 2 cases that hold up to 1000 in each case pluses..... hold alot of cd's cheaply, easy to index and locate cd's minus's .... they tend to be built cheaply (all mine are home repaired to better than new) and have to be carried upright. Pus 500 cd's even without cases weigh alot. I am currently considering the move back to caselogic wallets.... even if it means 4 - 5 ..... I enjoy flicking .
djwesty 0
i started with wooden cd dases done the job ok but then went to metal flight cases i think it looks better and gives a good impression something we younger ones need to think about.the only problem is you need a table i carry one in my trailer but dont need to use it much normally can get one at most venues jamie

Peter veness 0
I use a CD wallet, I find that they don't take much space up when transporting. there is also a weight difference between cd wallets and cases. But every dj is different it up to you what you want.

Corabar Steve 0
I use flight cases, as I like to work 4-5 tracks in advance of the one I'm playing & I stack the CDs in piles for each player. If you ues a wallet system you have to take the CD out (unprotected) to stack it Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish. Electrofreek 0
QUOTE you have to take the CD out (unprotected) to stack it true true the main reson i use wallets is not because of the portability.. its quite frankly becuse ive lost half of my cd cases!! and i find that it can be easier to see all of your cds infront of you by just turnin the ''page'' rather than searchin round a case thats my opinion!! Andy Westcott 0
CD flight caes for me. Or more correctly, the camera/toll cases you can buy at B&Q. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif I've not used any other system, and don't even know what these 'case logic' things I've seen mentioned here are. I like my current system because I can easily leaf through the CDs with one finger to find the one I need, and the CDs remain in their original cases, except the NOW compilations, which I re-case in individual jewel cases. I mustn't forget the vinyl, but upon the introduction of a legal way to transfer my vinyl to CD, I'll be hiding them away for good.
Gary 0
CD flight cases for CDs in their original jewel cases for me. In fact I've just bought another CD200 flightcase a few days ago as my interim 100CD flightcase was full to bursting again. Its a pattern...when the CD100 case fills up, I buy a CD-200 case and move the 100 CD's over to it, fill the unused space with lengths of CD height/width foam rubber, and leave the CD100 case at home until a few months later when I've filled the newer CD200 case up. For me, I find the original cases better for CD/track location than the 4 or 8 at a time ringbinder cases. I'm able to identify most CD's in their jewel cases by their spine text and/or graphics or colour eg: Now 50 = pinky/green etc. The divided up columns in the CD cases can be used to increase location of CDs more quickly too. For example, one column for all "individual artist" CDs, another column for "Compilation albums except Now albums", another column for just Now albums and so on. Further sub-division can be used eg: divide the "compilation" column up into 1 column for 80's compilation albums, and another column for 90's compilations etc...or divide the "individual artist" column up into a male and a female column, and so on. Kane 0
i have two cases each divided by 3, and each column consists of 60's artists 70's artists 80's artists 90's artists 00's artists compilation albums if i run out of space, i do the same as you gary, put i buy a smaller case until i got more cd's to fill up a bigger case.... does that make sense? Simonlm 0
I personally use both, the flight case for my main stuff, enough generall stuff to do most nights, then i have case logic files for the other stuff, split into latest cd singles, dance cd's, old school dance another filled with now 40 - 56, the newest few resisde in my flight case and the final one which i need most when doing weddings etc is a case logic filled with Mastermix Classic Cuts CD's. The flight case goes everywhere then just pick the relevent case logic cases to match with whatever gig i'm doing!!
absvicandmark 0
I use wallets (about 250 per case). Each cd is just added and numbered. Then entered artist alphabetically into excel on my laptop into each type of genre (party, rap, rock , rocknroll etc). Makes it easier to find the artist/track I need. Just click on the sheet I need (genre) then find the artist. Every time I get a new cd I just add it to the case and then I dont have to rearrange the whole case.

prjl 0
I use both, it's easy to have a sort out with a case, you just move the Cd's around, it would take forever with a cd wallet. The good thing with a cd wallet is that you can quickly search through your collection if you need to find a specific song.
