  1. QUOTE (Rendezvous @ Jun 14 2005, 07:54 PM) QUOTE (Kingy @ Jun 15 2005, 12:11 AM)I would rather work 4 gigs at £250 than 1 gig at £600. Corporate stuff is usually mid-week. What else would you be doing? Watching the box, Going down the pub? No! I'd be staying home researching and preparing for my upcoming £600 gigs and spending quality family time with my wife and two young boys! Something that is usually forgotten in our industry is that our clients don't hire a DJ all that often in life and that they don't really have much of an idea on price until they ring around. The pure and simple tr

  8. I did an engagment on lake Windermere a couple of years ago. The main problem was again the space. It also was quite a windy evening and the boat was rocking a tad. To be honest Bri I didn`t really enjoy it. But money does talk. Put a silly bid in for it and if you get it your quids in.... Ste
  9. Go to the concert and if the contract comes back ,give the job to somebody else and take some commission. This way you get the best of both worlds.... Ste,
  10. QUOTE (DJ Marky Marc @ May 11 2005, 10:11 PM) the big problem is only 1 line level input... who ever built this has overlooked the fact that people might still want to play cds from a dual cdplayer aswell....... Spot on Marky, Howevernot to badly priced. Ste
  11. If its a pc , put 2 sound cards in. This way you can connect to 2 channels on your mixer. This way you can cue (or listen through your headphones) to the other player. Ste http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/Welcome.gif
  12. QUOTE (robbiedj @ Jun 15 2005, 09:02 AM) We often get requests for it. It's a favorite sing-along here. Anyway as gooners the local song is Hot Stuff. Now tell me nobody plays it because it'e a footie song. I play that robbie, but coz am in the north nobody reconizes it as a footy song. Ste
  13. I`ll play anything if am asked for it , however if it doesn`t fit the bill eg The floor empties I wiil only play seconds of the track. Mr Blobby was pretty pants though. Ste

  16. Norton screwed my machine up.. I use zone alarm firewall and AVG anti virus. They are both free and free to update.. Some will say they are http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pooh.gif but ive had no problems. Ste
  17. Hi Tony Bit tricky one as you also want to get a foot in the door....Don`t forget a lot of our mates on here are from the South and they can get a better price than us up North. Take into consideration : 1 Are you going to pay a roady? 2 There is an band on with a seperate PA. 3 You want to get your feet under the table with the company. 4 How much would you get for a wedding 7-1. With no band? I would be tempted to go for £300.... (but thats only me) Good Luck
  18. Spot on Chris...... He`s an odd chap but his music is very good.. I was one of the lucky ones to get a ticket to his Bad tour when he was performing in Aintree and it was excellent. Ste
