Hello lads & Ladies Im from Southport which is 15 mile outside Liverpool. I also go and watch the European Champions every game at Anfield. When doing a wedding most DJ`s around this area play `You`ll never walk alone` ,, Gerry & the pacemakers at the end of the night as it is a traditional wedding track up here, just before New York New York and the slowy . I realise a lot of you guys are from the South. Do you play it ? If so do you get any negative feedback? Ste http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/071.gif

Mmmmmm strange guy... If I haven`t got a track somebody wants I still say yes I`ll play it. If questioned at the end I`ll say I forgot or the cd had a scratch on it and it didn`t play.. Ste http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/toot.gif

QUOTE (Rendezvous @ Jun 12 2005, 12:30 AM) Typically it goes like this for me: Welcome to venue Cocktail fare Grand entrance (Bride & Groom, bridal party) Entree Main Speeches & toasts Dessert Cutting the cake First dance Party time Although this varies depending on the wishes of the couple, the caterers and the venue. Richard what do your weddings finish (5am)? I ask the B & G but they tend to ask my opinion.. So I ask if the majority of guests are here. That it usually about 8.30-9pm. Ste

Hi Lads and Ladies Do you give prizes away to the winners or runners up of a game you do? If so what? Surely when you are trying to get some participation you have to mention what they will win as an insentive to get up a make a fool of themselves.. I useually say the winner will receive a free pint from the bar, this then gets the majority of blokes up.. Then when we have a winner I say "Yes, you have won a free pint , so go and get your free pint of water" http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.

I know we shouldn`t be highlighting this sort of behavour, but doing a wedding the other weekend and I was horrified to see a guest (a bloke) get glassed by another guest again a bloke. I felt really sorry for the bride and groom especially the bride as , as we had a fantastic evening Im pretty sure the only memories of her special day will be of the trouble at the night do. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/221.gif Has anybody witnessed anything like this??? I use a laptop and cds. My laptop though is really used for storing more tunes. I would hate to DJ with a laptop as it really does take the fun out of the job. I have about 10k tracks on mine and a lot of them are ones you wouldn`t really play however its nice to have every track that the customers want. Its also a really useful tool for backing music for the start and buffets etc. The software I use is TRAKTOR it seems ok as you can create a platlist and it will mix itself. Ste

Hi You must be one hell of a good mixer to cram so many tunes into a short time and make it sound good. As you said about fitting in the last requests in before the end is about my limit.. But the crowd were well happy with your performance and that is the main thing. Well done.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif Ste

hi I carry a 240 case of cds , mostly complamentry albums. I mainly do 60`s , 70`s and 80`s so I tend to have what the punters want. However I also have a laptop which I keep updated with charts, new dance stuff etc. My laptop is also full of any old `oldies` so 99.9% I also have what they want. The best thing is its not much to carry. Although I prefer to use cds I think £500 for a laptop is a good get out of jail card..Ste http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif
