Tonsk 0
Well my Saturday night gig sucked... Didnt help that the groom was 25 mins late for a 5pm wedding, and apparently if you are not married by 6pm, its not legal. The wedding ring didnt fit, the cd player they brought to play the music didnt work and the groom called the brides father the wrong name...... Booked from 7.30 - actually started at 9.30... Really hard night. The venue has their own sound system with limiter and it was SOOOOOOOO low that I couldnt get any atmosphere going... Sporadic dancing with the big floorfillers killing it and the usual people asking for different styles but not knowing what.... REALLY glad when it was over.... But the groom thanked me for a good night and the brides mother (who paid) seemed happy so...... Hi to DJ Trev who came along.... jackcu 0
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has nights like that ;) I did a kid's birthday party on Saturday night - went well with lots of dancing (and running around). Cheezy 0
The Thursday Night St georges day disco was a real success, 350 children in 2 groups. Loads of request, from Akon to Elvis!! Amarillo was the flavour of the night! Friday small 11th birthday party, did as many games I could fit in. Very warm hall had storage heaters that could not be turned down. Sat same very warm hall! Fund raising fancy dress 60/70/80th for local kids football team. They raised over £1000. ots of mad dads dressing up in DM's and punk gear. The request was loud music the boys can bounce to! So loads of Ska! Sunday finished the decking. Some great decking piccies posted! Cheezy Nightsounds

robbiedj 0
Saturday: 50th birthday in Mile End. Sunday: Belated St George's Day in Tottenham. Birthday went really well. Only a small venue, but as I checked before hand, didn't bother with large amp/speakers or full light show/fogger. It would have over-powered the place. Requests prior to start were "Good bit of Elvis, must play Trilogy", Little Ol' Wine Drinker Me, Amarillo and Kylie's Put Yourself In My Place and 60's-80's disco/soul. Started well when I actually had 1st request from publican while doing sound check for Teddy Prendergast. She was surprised we had it and went down to tell staff about it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/cool.gif Floor fillers Ronan Keating Life Is A Rollercoaster, Wonder Of You, Trilogy, Amarillo, New York, Save Your Kisses For Me, Making Your Mind Up, Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree, and (special request) Tony Christie Happy Birthday, Baby. Actually had everybody on the floor for NY, Dawn, Brotherhood of Man and both Tony Christie tracks. Should have finished at 12-30, but played 'til 1 after seeing the great light show down on the road outside. It out-did us, but was all in blue. Decided not to send punters out yet and landlady agreed, so kept playing until they all left outside. Apparently there was a good fight out there, judging by the no. of cars + battlewagon + ambulance it was really good. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif All left, saying when can we have another party? Sunday was a long day as we started at 4pm and went through to 11pm. Started off with sing-alongs/ a few for the kids/ background music, but ended up with a 70's/80's disco night. Amarillo (again), Spirit In The Sky and Come on Eileen floor fillers. Just have to say thank you to Djsounds, who took up the Saturday 18th birthday we couldn't do. Mary gave him a great report, saying he played a good mix of classic and new tracks and was very professional. She particularly mentioned that he asked if he should finish on time or keep going for a while as everybody was dancing. We always check with her before finishing and she likes to keep going if the crowd is good and behaving. Well done, mate. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif That crowd can be very critical of djs who don't come up to standard and you obviously won them over. You want me to play what?
