  2. Ha ha yes done this plenty of times, in the club i work i get loads of birthday shouts so i just add the fake song request to there name.
  3. I do understand why if you do a gig at the same place a lot you would do it at or near the normal gig price but i normally do a fair few different places over xmas and would rather be with my wife and friends nye so thats why im working for 700 quid.
  4. Well done on how you handled the situation. I always when faced with this type of thing just say i will happily play what they want as they are paying me. but i would not be able to Guarantee the guest will dance. this normally make the list less rigid and normally let me take a bit more control over the music. but again well done. you delt with it well!
  5. lol i wish i was that young still. it must be a new feature added since my last visit.

  7. You are right in thinking that good headphones will help with beat mixing, that and lots of practice i remember at first thinking i would never get it, but now its as easy as walking in fact easyer as i can still mix drunk http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif the headphones marky marc mention are great i find them a little too light weght for me i have been using the pionner hd1000s but are also quite expensive but they are the tool of my trade and only the best will do .

I use lots of different cd players in the few clubs i playing mainly pios 800s and 1000s, the 1000s are a lot nicer (not that many more features just feel more profesional but not sure id pay to upgrade if i already owned the 800s but my favs and the players i own are denon 5000s but am thinking of changing to the 3500s but need to give them a good test drive first and some advice from Gary aka Mr denon http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif
