Depending on the time factor, I normally allow myself 1 bottle of beer while I'm setting up (if the bars open), and then one after I've finished setting up.

After that it's iced water all night. :hurt: because I'm driving.

Best drinks I've had was a disco in a community centre/village hall, where they kept me supplied with cups of tea and coffee all night.

If you are doing a disco from say 7.30 until 12.00. Would you have an alcoholic drink at all during that time? :dan: Do you drink booze at all while you are working?

No, I don't drink any alcohol at all whilst working. Apart from the extra toilet breaks required, it affects concentration and as I usually drive, I don't mix drinking with driving. I usually only drink water.

to be totally honest it depends where i am. if i have to drive, no way. if it is a normal gig or a party or wedding no way.

but!!!!!!!! there are 2 venues i have where i am more pals with everyone than just the d.j. these 2 places i can let my hair down, metaphorically cos i'm bald, and party with the guys.

i really enjoy those 2 gigs, got one of them tonight. i'm not just the hired help and we have a great time.

but normally no. i dont drink. just cola and stuff or even as stated earlier a nice cuppa is always welcome.

Like it's going out of fashion if I'm not working.

I may have a pint at the start of a function then it's soft drinks all the way. The pint would be well out of my system by the time I've done the job & packed down.

I think it's psychological. Have a pint, relax, do the job & enjoy myself.

Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know

Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish.

The opinions of Corabar Steve are not necessarily those of Corabar Ltd or any of it's subsidiary companies

Depends who the disco is for. A customer then no, but me and my mate organise events for charity or our friends and only our friends attend so I get as hammered as the next person :dan:

Doesn't affect my ability to perform but would look totally unprofessional to a client.

My kind of customer! tongue out icon

Seriously though, usually coke all night. My driving licence is too valuable to even think about alcohol. The only times I have indulged in a couple of drinks (and I mean a couple) is at two shows where I was very friendly with the customers and they had booked me a room in the hotel. Only had to pack and go upstairs. We did join them in the bar for a little while after the party had finished.

Red Bull usually - 1 or 2 cans max during my usual 6 hour club/bar gig every night.

Used to have a couple of beers but I tend to drive to all my gigs now so wouldn't ever think about it. Occasionally have beer with the venue manager at the end of the night and with the rest of the staff if I'm not driving.

No alcohol, but might have a red bull if available other than that diet coke, lucozade or water

They don't call me Krazy for nothing! Krazy by name - Krazy by nature !!!

Jon, please be careful with that stuff, it's not got a very healthy list of ingredients. I will resort to Red Bull only in extreme circumstances.

Did you know that eating an apple can wake you up better than a cup of coffee? I now carry apples for the way home!

I don't drink alcohol when I'm woorking.

Unfortunately if I'm gonna have a drink I like more than one, so I feel its better for me not to have any.

And before you say it.....no I'm not an alcoholic...lol

never drink when im workin ( diet coke only ) a job is a job you wouldnt get away with it in any other job and i think the more you drink the less you focus on the crowd having a goodtime and more about if your enjoying yourself

Never.

I don't drink anyhow, but even if I did like a can or three I think it looks unprofessional to be slurping whilst your client, who has paid you a lot of money, looks on.

Save the alcohol for when you aren't being paid for your time.
